OceanStateArmory LLC

Terms, Conditions & Shop Policies

To provide our customers with consistent service, quality workmanship, and reasonable turnaround times, OceanStateArmory LLC (“OceanStateArmory,” “OSA,” “we,” or “us”) has established the following Terms, Conditions, and Shop Policies.

By placing an order, submitting an item for service, approving a work order, or purchasing products or services from OceanStateArmory, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the terms outlined below.

1. Estimated Lead Times

Our typical lead times are:

  • Cerakote: Approximately 4–5 weeks

  • Gunsmithing: Approximately 2–4 weeks

  • Complex Gunsmithing: Approximately 4–5 weeks

  • Laser Engraving: Approximately 1–2 weeks

All lead times are estimates and are not guaranteed completion dates unless specifically agreed to in writing.

OceanStateArmory generally operates on a First In, First Out (FIFO) system. Projects are typically completed in the order in which they are received, booked, and approved.

Certain projects may require additional time due to complexity, extensive disassembly or reassembly, detailed masking or stencil work, custom Cerakote color blending, custom-designed laser artwork, parts availability, curing requirements, troubleshooting, or other project-specific factors.

Specific completion dates generally cannot be provided until the project has been received, inspected, approved, and entered into our production schedule.

A project must be physically received and booked into our system before it can enter the production queue. We cannot reserve a position in the production schedule based solely on a customer's request to be contacted when a specific color, coating, or process is being performed.

2. Rush & Expedited Services

Expedited service may be available for certain Cerakote, refinishing, laser engraving, and gunsmithing projects.

Not all projects are eligible for expedited service.

All rush services must be approved by OceanStateArmory before the firearm, component, or project is shipped or dropped off. Availability depends upon our current workload and production schedule.

Typical rush-service charges include:

Single Color / Battle-Worn Cerakote

  • 1-week service: +75%

  • 2-week service: +50%

Camo Patterns, Specialty Finishes & Gunsmithing

  • Approximately 2-week service: +60%

A minimum rush-service charge of $50 may apply.

Due to the additional steps required for camouflage patterns, specialty finishes, and certain gunsmithing operations, shorter turnaround times may not be available.

Rush service is provided on a best-effort basis. While we make every reasonable effort to meet an approved rush deadline, circumstances outside our control may affect completion.

If OceanStateArmory fails to meet an agreed rush-service deadline, the customer will be refunded the applicable rush-service upcharge. The underlying service charges remain due.

3. Cerakote, Laser Engraving & Gunsmithing Pricing

Pricing varies depending upon the specific firearm, component, design, finish, required preparation, disassembly, reassembly, and complexity of the requested work.

Customers should refer to our current price list or written estimate for applicable pricing.

All prices are subject to change without notice prior to acceptance of a work order or order placement.

Cerakote and laser engraving prices are generally offered on an à la carte basis. Unless specifically stated otherwise, gunsmithing, armorer labor, disassembly, reassembly, troubleshooting, parts installation, or repair work is billed separately from refinishing services.

Our standard shop labor rate is:

$50 per hour, with a ½-hour minimum charge of $25.

Additional labor, materials, replacement parts, shipping, or outside services may result in additional charges.

4. Optics & Electronic Components

OceanStateArmory may, at its discretion, accept certain optics or electronic components for Cerakote or refinishing.

The refinishing process may involve heat, chemicals, surface preparation, disassembly, masking, and other processes that could potentially damage sensitive electronic or optical components.

Customers who request refinishing of optics or electronic equipment acknowledge and accept this risk.

OceanStateArmory is not responsible for failures or damage to optics or electronic components resulting from their inherent sensitivity to the refinishing process, except where otherwise required by law.

5. Payments

OceanStateArmory accepts the following payment methods:

  • Cash

  • Check

  • Credit or debit card

  • Cash App

  • Venmo

  • PayPal

Credit Card Processing Fee:
A 3.5% processing fee will be added to all credit card transactions. This fee is calculated based on the total amount charged to the credit card and will be disclosed prior to completion of the transaction.

Unless otherwise stated, no additional processing fee is charged for payments made by cash or check. Other electronic payment methods may be subject to applicable processing fees where disclosed prior to payment.

Payment in full, including any applicable processing fees, is required before completed merchandise, firearms, components, or other customer property will be released unless alternative payment arrangements have been approved by OceanStateArmory in writing.

All payments and associated fees are subject to applicable law and payment processor requirements.

6. Order Cancellations, Returns & Restocking Fees

By placing an order with OceanStateArmory, the customer acknowledges that we may incur costs immediately in connection with processing, ordering, allocating, shipping, or preparing merchandise.

Customer-Requested Cancellations

Orders canceled at the customer's request may be subject to a 30% restocking fee.

If merchandise has already been ordered from, allocated by, processed by, or shipped from a distributor, manufacturer, or supplier to fulfill the customer's order, a 30% restocking fee will apply to the canceled merchandise.

The restocking fee is calculated based upon the original purchase price of the affected merchandise.

Firearm Orders

Firearms ordered specifically to fulfill a customer's purchase are subject to a 30% restocking fee if the customer:

  • Cancels the purchase after the firearm has been ordered;

  • Refuses to complete the transaction;

  • Fails to complete required paperwork;

  • Refuses delivery or transfer;

  • Requests that the firearm be returned to the distributor; or

  • Otherwise causes the transaction to be canceled after OceanStateArmory has incurred costs associated with the order.

Any distributor return fees, shipping charges, or other non-refundable costs may also be deducted from the customer's refund where applicable.

Returns

All returns require prior authorization from OceanStateArmory.

Approved returns may be subject to a 30% restocking fee.

Original shipping charges, transfer fees, credit-card processing fees where legally permitted, gunsmithing charges, labor charges, special-order fees, and other service-related charges are generally non-refundable.

Returned merchandise must be in its original condition and include all original packaging, accessories, documentation, and components unless otherwise approved by OceanStateArmory.

Custom & Non-Returnable Items

The following are generally considered final sale once work has begun or the item has been specially ordered or modified:

  • Cerakote services

  • Custom refinishing

  • Laser engraving

  • Personalized products

  • Custom artwork

  • Gunsmithing services

  • Modified firearms or components

  • Custom builds

  • Special-order merchandise

  • Customer-approved custom work

Custom work cannot generally be returned or canceled once production has begun because the work has been performed specifically for the customer.

Nothing in this section eliminates any rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

7. Special Orders

OceanStateArmory will make reasonable efforts to obtain non-stock merchandise requested by customers.

Special-order merchandise may require a 50% non-refundable deposit before the order is placed.

Typical delivery time for special-order merchandise is approximately 5–7 business days, although distributor availability, manufacturer delays, shipping carriers, legal requirements, and other circumstances may affect delivery.

A quoted delivery timeframe is an estimate and is not a guarantee.

Special orders may also be subject to the cancellation and restocking policies described above.

8. FFL Transfers

OceanStateArmory may accept eligible firearm transfers from properly licensed Federal Firearms Licensees and, where legally permitted, private parties.

Current transfer fees are:

  • Handguns / Lower Receivers: $30

  • Long Guns: $50

Transfer fees are subject to change.

All firearm transfers are subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws, required identification, permits, waiting periods, background checks, and any other legal requirements in effect at the time of transfer.

Payment of a firearm does not guarantee that the customer is legally eligible to take possession of the firearm.

9. Cerakote Limited Lifetime Warranty

OceanStateArmory provides a limited lifetime workmanship warranty on our Cerakote services.

This warranty is intended to cover defects attributable to the Cerakote application process performed by OceanStateArmory.

The warranty does not cover damage resulting from:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Holster wear

  • Abrasion

  • Impact damage

  • Improper cleaning

  • Chemical exposure

  • Abuse

  • Misuse

  • Neglect

  • Corrosion caused by improper maintenance

  • Modification by another party

  • Damage occurring after the item leaves our possession

All firearm finishes will experience some degree of wear during normal use.

If a customer believes a Cerakote finish has failed due to an application defect, OceanStateArmory will inspect the item and determine whether the issue is covered under our workmanship warranty.

10. Customer Ownership & Authorization

By submitting a firearm or other regulated item to OceanStateArmory, the customer certifies that they are the lawful owner of the item or are otherwise legally authorized to possess the item and authorize the requested work.

The customer authorizes OceanStateArmory to perform the services described in the applicable work order.

The customer understands that modification, customization, refinishing, gunsmithing, or alteration of a firearm may affect or void the original manufacturer's warranty.

11. Customer-Supplied Information, Artwork & Instructions

The customer is responsible for reviewing and approving all names, dates, text, spelling, serial-number information, artwork, logos, graphics, dimensions, placement instructions, and other customization details submitted to OceanStateArmory.

Once permanent work such as laser engraving, machining, stippling, or other irreversible customization has begun, the work generally cannot be removed or reversed.

OceanStateArmory is not responsible for errors contained in customer-supplied or customer-approved artwork, text, spelling, measurements, designs, or instructions.

If OceanStateArmory makes an error that differs from the customer's approved work order or approved artwork, we will review the circumstances and determine an appropriate remedy.

12. Gunsmithing & Firearm Modifications

The customer understands that requested gunsmithing, machining, modification, or alteration of a firearm may change the firearm from its original factory configuration.

The customer further understands that such modifications may affect reliability, manufacturer warranties, compatibility, resale value, or performance.

OceanStateArmory will make reasonable efforts to perform all authorized work using accepted professional practices.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that any requested configuration, parts, accessories, or modifications may be legally possessed and used in their jurisdiction.

OceanStateArmory reserves the right to decline any project that we believe cannot be safely, legally, or appropriately completed.

13. Limitation of Liability & Assumption of Risk

The customer acknowledges that firearms and firearm components are mechanical devices that may be subject to wear, manufacturing defects, prior modifications, concealed damage, improper maintenance, ammunition-related issues, or other conditions outside the control of OceanStateArmory.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the customer agrees to release, indemnify, defend, and hold harmless OceanStateArmory LLC and its owners, employees, agents, contractors, and affiliated organizations from claims arising from the customer's misuse, unlawful use, unauthorized modification, improper maintenance, or unsafe handling of a firearm or component after it has left our possession.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to waive liability that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

14. Loss or Damage to Customer Property

OceanStateArmory exercises reasonable care when storing customer property.

However, to the fullest extent permitted by law, OceanStateArmory is not responsible for loss or damage resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Fire

  • Flood

  • Severe weather

  • Tornado

  • Theft

  • Natural disaster

  • Utility failure

  • Government action

  • Other force majeure events

15. Completed Work, Storage Fees & Abandoned Property

Customers will be notified when their project is complete and ready for payment and pickup.

Unless other arrangements have been made in writing, items that remain at OceanStateArmory after completion may be subject to storage charges.

A storage fee of $5 per day may be assessed for items remaining in our possession after the applicable pickup period.

If an item remains unclaimed for more than 60 days after documented notification that the work has been completed and payment or pickup has been requested, OceanStateArmory may treat the property as abandoned to the extent permitted by applicable federal and Rhode Island law.

Any disposition, transfer, sale, surrender, or other handling of an unclaimed firearm or regulated item will be performed only in accordance with applicable law.

Any proceeds legally obtained from the disposition of abandoned property may be applied toward outstanding labor charges, parts, storage charges, administrative costs, and other amounts owed.

16. Manufacturer Warranties

The customer acknowledges that modifications, refinishing, machining, gunsmithing, or other alterations requested from OceanStateArmory may affect or void a manufacturer's original warranty.

OceanStateArmory does not represent or guarantee that work performed by us will preserve the original manufacturer's warranty.

17. No Implied Warranty

Except for warranties specifically stated in writing by OceanStateArmory and to the extent permitted by applicable law:

NO IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS GIVEN, AND ANY SUCH IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

18. Changes to Terms & Conditions

OceanStateArmory reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions, pricing, policies, fees, lead times, and service offerings at any time.

Changes will apply prospectively to transactions or work orders entered into after the effective date of the revised terms, unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

19. Customer Acknowledgment

By signing an OceanStateArmory work order, submitting property for service, placing an order, or otherwise authorizing work, the customer acknowledges that they:

  • Have reviewed these Terms & Conditions;

  • Understand the requested work and associated risks;

  • Have had an opportunity to ask questions;

  • Confirm that the information and instructions they have provided are accurate;

  • Authorize OceanStateArmory to perform the requested services; and

  • Agree to the applicable pricing, policies, cancellation provisions, restocking fees, and other terms stated herein.
