That larger viewing window doesn't magically make you shoot faster, but it does provide more forgiveness when mounting the rifle under awkward positions, shooting around barricades, or engaging unconventional targets. The increased field of view simply gives your eye more room to pick up the dot quickly.
Mounting Considerations
Because of its larger objective housing, the ARO-EVO sits slightly higher on mounts than a traditional micro optic.
Holosun includes both an absolute co-witness and a lower 1/3 co-witness mount in the box. For most shooters, the included lower 1/3 mount provides an excellent balance of comfort and speed.
That said, we're generally fans of upgrading factory mounts. If you're looking for maximum rigidity or a quick-detach option, quality aftermarket mounts from companies like Arisaka Defense or LaRue Tactical are worthwhile upgrades.
If your goal is to keep the optic mounted as low as possible, we recommend using an absolute co-witness mount, which places the optic around the 1.60-inch centerline height.
