The OSA Better 2011 Package is OceanStateArmory's complete performance package for shooters who want to take an affordable production 2011 and turn it into a smoother, more refined, better-performing pistol.

The MAC 9DS and Springfield Armory Prodigy have made the double-stack 1911 platform accessible to far more shooters. Both provide a solid foundation, but there's considerable room to improve the trigger system, ignition components, recoil system, internal fit and overall feel of the pistol.

That's where the Better 2011 Package comes in.

Instead of simply installing a handful of aftermarket parts, OSA approaches the pistol as a complete system. We upgrade the trigger and ignition components, tune the recoil system, polish critical areas, address unnecessary friction, and professionally fit and tune the components to the individual pistol.

The goal isn't to make your production 2011 look more expensive.

The goal is to make it run, feel, and shoot better.

What's Included in the Better 2011 Package

EGW Ignition Kit

One of the biggest upgrades in the new Better 2011 Package is the addition of a complete EGW Ignition Kit.

Rather than retaining the factory ignition components and focusing solely on the trigger shoe, the Better 2011 Package upgrades the heart of the pistol's fire-control system.

EGW's ignition kits typically include the:

• EGW Hammer
• EGW Sear
• EGW Disconnector
• EGW Sear Spring
• EGW Hammer/Mainspring

EGW designs its hammer and sear components as a system, with complementary engagement geometry intended to produce a clean and consistent trigger when properly fitted.

For the Springfield Armory Prodigy, the appropriate Prodigy-specific EGW ignition kit is used where applicable. EGW's Prodigy kit utilizes a modified sear specifically designed around dimensional differences found in that platform.

The ignition system is professionally installed, fitted, tuned, and function checked by OSA.

We're not simply chasing the lightest trigger pull possible. The goal is a crisp, predictable break, positive reset, proper engagement, and dependable operation.

Atlas Gunworks Trigger & Polished Trigger Bar

The factory trigger is replaced with a premium Atlas Gunworks trigger, giving the shooter a more refined interface with the upgraded EGW ignition system.

Choose between:

• Atlas Flat Trigger
• Atlas Curved Trigger

The trigger bar is polished and the trigger system is fitted and tuned as part of the package.

Combined with the EGW ignition components, this creates a much more comprehensive trigger upgrade than simply replacing the factory trigger shoe.

Atlas Gunworks Toolless Guide Rod

The factory guide rod is upgraded to an Atlas Gunworks Toolless Guide Rod.

The tool-less design makes field stripping significantly easier and eliminates the hassle associated with capturing a traditional 2011 recoil spring assembly.

It's a relatively simple upgrade that makes routine cleaning, maintenance, and recoil spring changes much more convenient.

Wolf Recoil Spring Calibration Pack

A 2011's recoil system has a major influence on how the pistol feels and behaves.

Instead of installing an arbitrary recoil spring weight, the Better 2011 Package includes a Wolff Recoil Spring Calibration Pack, allowing the recoil system to be evaluated and tuned appropriately.

The goal is to find a combination that provides:

• Reliable cycling
• Consistent slide return
• Positive feeding
• Improved recoil characteristics
• Reduced unnecessary slide impact
• A smoother overall shooting experience

This becomes particularly valuable for competition shooters or customers running different ammunition configurations.

OSA Internal Polish & Reliability Work

Installing quality components is only part of building a better 2011.

OSA performs a detailed inspection of the pistol and addresses applicable internal friction and contact points as part of the package.

Depending on the individual firearm, work may include polishing and refinement of areas such as:

• Feed ramp
• Frame rails
• Slide rails
• Trigger bow/bar contact surfaces
• Disconnector contact areas
• Applicable fire-control contact surfaces
• Other friction points identified during inspection

This isn't about making every internal surface shiny.

Material is addressed selectively and intentionally, with the goal of improving smoothness and reliability while preserving critical dimensions and engagement geometry.

Complete Trigger & Ignition System Tuning

The Atlas trigger and EGW ignition components aren't simply installed and returned to the customer.

The complete fire-control system is evaluated together.

The relationship between the trigger, disconnector, sear, hammer, springs and safeties is critical on a 1911/2011 platform. EGW itself notes that sear-spring tension, hammer/sear geometry, disconnector operation and trigger movement all contribute to proper trigger operation and safety.

OSA performs the appropriate fitting, tuning, and function checks after installation to create a trigger system that is clean, consistent and dependable.

Upgraded Grip Screws & Hardware

The details matter.

Applicable factory grip screws and hardware are upgraded as part of the package, giving the finished pistol a cleaner appearance while completing the overall build.

MAC 9DS Optic Options

For MAC 9DS builds, an appropriate Springfield AOS optic plate can be incorporated into the project.

Optic and mounting requirements vary, so select the appropriate configuration when placing your order or contact OSA to discuss your setup.

Optional Upgrades
