If you're unsure which buffer to purchase, buy the T2. It offers an excellent balance across a wide variety of rifle configurations and handles switching between suppressed and unsuppressed shooting remarkably well.
Things to Consider
There are a couple of trade-offs with the BCM MK2 system (and similar intermediate-length systems like the VLTOR A5).
First, the receiver extension is longer than a standard carbine buffer tube. That means your collapsible stock won't close quite as far.
Second, the system uses longer rifle-length buffers, meaning standard carbine buffers are not compatible.
For us, those are very minor compromises.
In return, you get a recoil system that's dramatically less finicky than many traditional carbine setups. We've found the MK2 system to be extremely forgiving across different ammunition types and whether the rifle is suppressed or unsuppressed. In many cases, a single T2 buffer will run beautifully in both configurations without requiring constant tuning.
