Reverse-Extended Design
Unlike many extended takedown pins that protrude from the right side of the receiver, the PF-040 adds its extra length to the left side of the rifle.
When the pins are pushed into place, the additional 0.040" of length creates a larger, easier-to-grasp pin head on the right side without interfering with ambidextrous safety selectors or adding unnecessary bulk.
The result is a cleaner, more functional design that improves usability while maintaining the rifle's streamlined profile.
Purpose-Driven Details
Forward Controls Design intentionally kept the pin heads simple and functional.
The exposed side features a smooth face with a slight chamfer to prevent snagging, while the opposite side includes a small dimple that allows the tip of a cartridge (up to 9mm) or similar object to easily push the pins free on particularly tight-fitting receivers.
It's another example of Forward Controls Design solving a practical problem with thoughtful engineering instead of unnecessary styling.

Note: The PF-040 may not be compatible with certain PDW-style stocks that use guide rods or support bars overlapping the rear takedown pin area.
